My Story

Take a seat next to the campfire, throw on another log and I will tell you about me.

My name is Jeff "Jiggy" Andersen and I'm a husband, father, a fishing guide, photographer, writer, tournament angler, and most of the time, a goof ball!  My wife, Kristine, and I call Baxter, MN home. 

MY STORY

I grew up in Northern Minnesota in the town of Bemidji.  I was fortunate enough to have a Dad who took me fishing when I was young and that was what fueled the passion.  I worked at a small tackle shop, Blue Water Bait and Sports, a guy brought in a picture of a large muskie.  I told myself I was going to learn how to catch monster muskies.  I was only 15 years old so my Dad would have to drop me off at the lake access and I always left telling him to pick me up at dark.  Usually, I would get in trouble because I was always late!  “Just one more cast!”, I would always say and that hasn’t changed today.

Today I’m a full time fishing guide with Leisure Outdoor Adventures, Photographer and Tournament Angler.   I’m so lucky to be able to compete in fishing tournaments and have the opportunity to take people fishing several days though out the year.  Seriously, this is a passion not a job and there is nothing else that makes me more happy when I hear, "That was the best day fishing I have ever had!" or "That's my biggest!".

I spend most of my time as a fishing guide in the Brainerd Lake Area along with Leech Lake, Cass Lake, Lake Bemidji and many more.  Throughout the summer I guide mostly for Walleyes and/or Muskies and the occasional pan fish or pike trip.

I'm also involved in so many different things and sometimes I'm not sure how I keep it all straight. I'm a photography addict and have recently took it to the next step and have taken pictures for Clam Corporation and have had several photos featured in several magazines like In-Fisherman, Ice Guide, Cover of the 2011 MN Ice Show and many more.
